The painting depicts Martin Luther King, Jr., Frederick Douglass, and Harriet Tubman. These, in their times, exhibited exceptional courage in the face of oppression and hate. As Americans and as Christians, each of these strove to remind the oppressive, that neither the Bible, nor our own Constitution supports the subjugation and enslavement of people. Accordingly, phrases from these foundational truths are subtly included in the composition, yet darkened, obscured, and pushed to edges. This art is signed by the artist.
